Home Book reviews Melmoth

Melmoth

This is a perfect ghost story for autumn reading. Honestly I had to stop reading this right before bed because I got too freaked out about Melmoth creeping in my house. Some of the timeline switches were confusing between past and present when they changed from paragraph to paragraph. I had to go back and reread some sentences to figure out if it was the present or 6 months ago. This made it a little more difficult to get engrossed in the beginning.

The story has great character developments and is more character driven/slow paced. The first half of the book was harder to get into but the second half had me intrigued. (I can understand why it has such mixed reviews on Goodreads). But most importantly: THAT ENDING?! It gave me chills.
