Seven Ways We Lie

I liked the writing style and how each character had a different tone of voice/writing style. I could clearly tell which character was speaking, which is impressive how the author could write each person so uniquely!

I enjoyed some characters' chapters more than others-I didn’t always enjoy Matt’s POV because of the way his conversations are written. Also the character rep of Pan and Ace/Aro orientations felt really well done but obviously as someone who doesn’t identify as either of those, I can’t be a reliable source so hopefully they’re accurate!

The seven deadly sins and the student-teacher scandal/rumor aspects, weren’t as much of a main focus. Each character is tied to the rumor in some way but the book mostly focuses on how the characters handle their own issues and lives, both relating to the scandal and not. The student and teacher identities were predictable but it didn’t ruin the book for me. I do wish the sins tied into the story a bit more and played more of a prominent role. The sins weren’t as obvious for some characters compared to others but I was happy to discover that I correctly matched them!
