The Familiars

The novel wasn’t very plot driven but the atmospheric descriptions and character developments made me really enjoy the story! I always love stories about witches and witch trials, I find them really fascinating. The first few chapters were slower and difficult to get into but I liked the writing style as it felt as if I was there.

I also felt connected to the characters and loved watching their stories unfold. This book did not disappoint and I can’t wait to read Halls’ second book, The Foundling! Plus it has motivated me to learn more about the history of witch trials in England since most of my knowledge is more American focused with the Salem Witch Trials. The Familiars is most likely going to end up being one of my favorites of the year!
