The Foundling

I loved the writing style. As always, Halls has a way with words and lyrical prose. Halls is an author I fell in love with when reading her first book and this was even better ! I can’t wait to read her third book, Mrs England - she’s immediately become an auto-buy author for me. The characters were well written and developed, as we see what it means to be a mother and make difficult choices.

It could be slow at times but the I enjoyed the slow pace and seeing the characters navigate through their daily lives, past memories, and feelings as events unfolded. The ending did feel slightly rushed but overall I did like the outcome.
