The Last Letter From Your Lover
The book had a slow start and I had trouble paying attention in the first half. I enjoyed the flashback chapters prior to Jenny’s accident much more than the post accident timeline during part one. I always love a novel that has switching POVs between characters and timelines so I’m really happy I came back to it!
Moyes’ book definitely picked up and held my attention more during the second half, to the point that I didn’t want to put it down. The characters are well written and complex, even as Ellie frustrated me at times I eventually grew to like her. The novel’s plot twists were shocking and broke my heart.
Her books are perfect for when I need a good cry, and I cried a lot while reading this (although not as much as Me Before You). I though the book’s ending was perfect, resolving things but also leaving it a bit open. I’m definitely glad I didn’t DNF for good and picked it up again, at the right time.
